Please, Poetry Library is a participatory library project hosted by Alicia Watkinson and Celia Easton Koehler. The library consists of gifted books from friends and acquaintances and small presses. The idea is that this library be an ongoing, affective, and living “brainstorm” of poems and other forms of text, a spatial extension of the radio show. One goal of the show is to bring attention to poetry’s knack for exercising our attentions and helping us access un-thought-by-us-thoughts.
This library seeks to be a public place of study, a common-shelf of knowledge. We have index cards and post-it notes and writing utensils, and it is our hope that donors and readers alike will leave traces of their reading experiences, so that we may think with each other, so that each other's perspectives and reading experiences become a part of our own.
We are also interested in hosting regularly programming at the library, including open-mics, workshops, reading groups, and writing nights. If you would like to contribute to the library or correspond about the show please (please!) send us an email: pleasepayattentionpls@gmail.com
Please, Poetry Library also hosts a bi-weekly poetry radio show. The radio show currently airs on KBGA, 89.9 FM on Tuesdays from 1-2:30pm fortnightly (twice a month). For more info, see radio show tab!
