Visit us at Playful Pals Preschool to pick up and complete an enrollment packet. The packet will include initial registration, an emergency contact form, proof of residence form, a copy of the child's birth certificate, a copy of the child's immunization record. An orientation walk-through is required before they can start school.
During the enrollment process, parents are made aware of the payment policy. During the electronic check-in and check-out process, parents have a reminder about when their payment is due and the amount to be paid. The front desk clerk is also one to remind parents of upcoming due to be paid. If the payment is missed, the child cannot return to the center until the payment is made.
Lunch and snacks are provided each day. The foods served will include vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats, and low-fat milk. Children will be encouraged to try a variety of whole foods, stop when they’re full, and have opportunities to engage in adequate amounts of physical activities to ensure they are burning rather than storing the energy they are consuming (Gadzikowski, 2013). We will encourage trying new foods with recommended portion sizes and, if children are still hungry, allowing children to get seconds of fruits and vegetables. Children need a safe space to play and to be active to enrich these healthy habits. Parents are encouraged to join in on health and nutrition information events like a food preparation and cooking class.
Here at Playful Pals Preschool, we have 10 students per 1 teacher. The teachers in each classroom will remain in ratio (having the correct number of staff per number of children in each room). If a teacher has more children to care for than the correct ratio amount, children can be left unsupervised, or staff can be overwhelmed, and the safety of the children can be at risk.
Playful Pals Preschool is like your child's home away from home. Parents are always invited to join the classroom, observe, or participate in classroom activities. Oftentimes, teachers will reach out to parents when volunteers or chaperones are needed. Visitors must bring an ID and wear the visitor's badge to enter the building for the safety of children and staff.
