My name is Marta, and I’m a Certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist with the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy, as well as a Behaviour Consultant with a background in Early Childhood Care, Learning, and Development.
For many years, I have worked alongside children and families across the globe, supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, development, and relationships. Through my career in education and child development, I came to realise that my greatest passion lies in helping children feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
This is at the heart of everything I do.
As a Child-Centred Play Therapist, I believe that every child has an innate capacity for growth when provided with the right environment and support. Through play therapy, I offer children a safe, accepting, and therapeutic relationship where they can explore their emotions, better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and develop the confidence and resilience needed to face life’s challenges, empowering them to grow into the capable and unique individuals they are meant to be.
I do not view behaviour as something to fix, but as communication to understand. My role is to support children in expressing what they may not yet have the words for, while helping them build confidence, resilience, and emotional awareness.
Alongside my therapeutic work with children, I work closely with parents and caregivers, helping them better understand their child’s behaviours, emotions, and underlying needs. Behaviour is always a form of communication, and when we look beyond the behaviour itself, we can gain valuable insight into what a child is trying to express. By understanding the needs beneath the behaviour, we can support children more effectively in their growth and development.
My aim is not simply to address challenges, but to support children and families in building stronger relationships, developing emotional wellbeing, and creating lasting positive change, while respecting each child’s unique journey.
My work is guided by compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for each child’s unique journey. I strive to create a space where children and families feel safe to be themselves and understood rather than judged.
If you feel I may be the right person to support your child and family, please do get in touch to explore how we can work together.
