By downloading, installing, or using Plant Scanner (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Plant Scanner is an AI-powered plant identification assistant that allows users to:
Capture or upload photos of plants or flowers
Receive AI-generated plant identifications with detailed information
View scientific names, characteristics, and care guidance
Save favorite identifications
Access identification history
Explore educational plant facts and content
The App uses third-party AI services and image-processing technologies (“AI Engines”) to process user inputs. Availability, quality, and accuracy may vary. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Certain features rely on persistent device identifiers to track usage limits and subscription status.
You are responsible for:
Maintaining the security of your device
All activities occurring under your device
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if abuse, compromise, or violations are suspected.
You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not use the App to:
Upload or share illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or violent content
Upload images containing illegal, explicit, or harmful material
Process images you do not have the legal right to use
Infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract datasets, training data, or model weights
Bypass usage limits, paywalls, or access controls
Resell outputs as a standalone paid identification service or bulk dataset
Use the App for commercial agricultural, horticultural, or plant-diagnosis services without proper licensing
Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination.
You retain ownership of the original photos you submit.
JanoGroup LLC (“we,” “us”) and our licensors retain all rights to the App, software, interfaces, AI Engines, identification data, trademarks, and all other materials not provided by you.
Free-tier usage (50 identifications per day) grants a limited, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial use only.
You may not distribute, publish, monetize, or incorporate outputs into commercial products.
Active paid subscriptions grant a non-exclusive, personal-use license to use generated identifications for:
Personal education and plant identification
Sharing with horticulturists, botanists, nurseries, or gardening professionals for personal projects
Non-commercial presentations (attribution recommended)
Personal social media sharing
Not permitted:
Commercial resale of generated identifications
Creating paid identification services or offerings
Automated scraping or bulk export
Commercial plant-diagnosis, agricultural, or horticultural business use without proper licensing
AI-generated results may include errors, misidentifications, or incomplete information. We make no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or reliability.
Always consult qualified professionals—especially for edible, toxic, medicinal, or allergenic plants—before making decisions based on identifications.
Portions of the App rely on third-party AI services. We are not responsible for intellectual-property claims arising from their data sources, training methods, or outputs.

Trials: Convert to paid plans unless canceled before expiration.
Refunds: Managed by the App Store or Google Play. Charges are final except where required by law.
We may adjust pricing or limits to reflect service costs. Prices shown in-app or store listings govern.
AI-generated identifications may:
Misidentify visually similar species
Fail on blurry, dark, or poorly framed images
Provide incomplete or incorrect data
Perform poorly on rare or exotic species
Do not rely on outputs for:
Medical, veterinary, or poison-control decisions
Determining whether a plant is safe to ingest or touch
Legal or regulatory compliance decisions
Scientific research or academic citation
Always consult qualified professionals (botanists, horticulturists, agronomists, poison control centers, or medical/veterinary professionals) when safety or accuracy is critical.
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how it is processed, and your available choices.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JANOGROUP LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL JANOGROUP LLC BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM PLANT MISIDENTIFICATION. TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JanoGroup LLC and its affiliates from claims arising from:
Your use of the App or generated identifications
Content you submit
Violations of law or these Terms
Actions taken based on plant identifications without professional consultation
Harm resulting from interactions with plants identified through the App
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA Consumer Rules, held in Washington, DC or virtually, in English.
No class actions permitted.
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days by emailing janogroupllc@gmail.com with subject line: “Arbitration Opt-Out.”
You may cancel subscriptions at any time via App Store settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations or abuse. Upon termination, usage rights cease, subject to license restrictions. Data handling follows the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via release notes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale.
