Welcome to Plant Scanner (“the App”), a mobile application developed by JanoGroup LLC that helps users identify plants and flowers using AI-powered image recognition and provides educational information such as care tips and plant facts.
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By downloading or using Plant Scanner, you agree to the terms described here.
No account required: You do not need to create an account or sign in to use the App.
No direct PII required: We do not ask for personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address to access core features.
Uploaded images: When you take or select a photo for identification, the image is sent for AI processing to generate an identification result.
Processing location: Plant Scanner uses cloud-based processing for plant identification.
Retention: We do not intentionally store your images on our own servers longer than necessary to provide results. Our AI service provider may retain data for limited periods for abuse prevention, safety, or service reliability, in accordance with their policies.
The App stores certain data locally on your device to enable features:

You may delete local app data using in-app controls (where available) or by uninstalling the App.
If you purchase a subscription or make an in-app purchase:
Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
We may receive non-sensitive information necessary to validate access (e.g., subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement state).
We use RevenueCat (via purchases_flutter) to manage subscriptions and entitlements. RevenueCat may process device identifiers and purchase or receipt data to provide this service.
The App displays ads using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).
Device and ad data: Ad providers may collect device information and identifiers (such as Advertising ID on Android or IDFA on iOS if tracking is allowed) to measure ad performance and, where permitted, personalize ads.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS): You may choose whether to allow tracking. If declined, ads may be less personalized.
The App may retrieve plant descriptions or images from public sources (such as Wikipedia/Wikimedia). These services may receive standard request data such as IP address and user agent.
We use information to:
Provide plant identification results and educational content.
Maintain local features (history, favorites, preferences).
Operate subscriptions and enforce access or usage limits.
