Need help? Email quickmate.apps@gmail.com — a real person will answer, usually within two working days. To help us fix things fast, please include your device (e.g. iPhone 15), your iOS version, and the Plainwx version (Settings → About).
Plainwx turns official aviation weather (METAR and TAF reports) into plain English. It is a supplemental tool and does not replace an official preflight weather briefing.
How do I cancel Plainwx Pro? Open the App Store, tap your name → Subscriptions → Plainwx, then Cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. We cannot cancel or refund for you — Apple controls billing.
How does the free trial work? The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends (same steps as above).
I subscribed but Pro isn't showing. On the paywall or in Settings, tap Restore. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us.
Does my subscription carry to a new device? Yes — subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID. Install Plainwx, sign in with the same Apple ID, and tap Restore.
How do I get a refund? Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I add an airport? Tap the search field, enter an ICAO/FAA/IATA code, name, or city, and tap the + next to a result. It's saved to your Airports list. Reorder or remove with Edit.
An airport shows "NO METAR" — why? That airport doesn't file weather reports. Plainwx shows the nearest reporting station so you still get usable weather.
What do the coloured badges and "OLD" mean? The badge is the flight category (VFR / MVFR / IFR / LIFR). The age colour is grey under 60 minutes, gold 60–90, red over 90. A report over 90 minutes old is marked "OLD" and its category turns grey — always check the age, and tap to see the raw report.
How do I see the raw METAR/TAF? The raw text is always one tap away on an airport's detail screen. Plainwx never hides it.
Nearby isn't finding airports. Nearby needs location permission (While Using the App). Enable it in iOS Settings → Plainwx → Location. You can use every other feature without it.
I'm not getting category alerts. Category alerts are a Pro feature and use notifications. Make sure notifications are enabled for Plainwx in iOS Settings, and that you've added an alert rule for the airport (Settings → Category alerts). Alerts are checked in the background on a schedule iOS controls, so timing can vary.
Widgets or the Apple Watch app aren't updating. Widgets and Watch are Pro features. They refresh from the app's cached weather; open Plainwx to force a refresh. Widgets update on a schedule iOS controls to save battery.
How do I delete my data? Everything lives on your device. Remove saved airports in the app, or delete Plainwx to erase all local data. We have no server and store nothing about you — see our Privacy Policy.
Does Plainwx sync across my devices? Your saved-airport list syncs through your own iCloud account if iCloud is enabled. Turn it off in iOS Settings to keep the list on one device only.
