This is the beginning of a process to formulate a plan. The community is invited to discuss with experts and each other the studies, and photographs of the Great Brook and what might be expected in the future. Please plan to come with questions, ideas and suggestions as we plan for the next step in this process. There will be no decisions made or votes taken. We are interested in listening.

In the coming weeks, we will be arranging for trash disposal. Trash disposal will require debris separation. Here are some general guidelines.
If you lost your pet during the flood, please check both the Central Vermont Humane Society (802-476-3811) and the Kitty Cafe in Barre (802-479-1498).
The first two steps are
1) file with 211.org. This data is used by the state to secure funding to help with clean up.
2) Call Crisis Clean Up
Please, please, PLEASE! Report all flood damage, no matter how trivial seeming, to Vermont 211. You can phone 211 or go to Flood Damage - Resident Form — VT 211 (vermont211.org) . It only takes minutes to fill out the form as best you can. Phones are answered 24/7. If you can't get through by calling 211, try 866-652-4636 or 802-652-4636.
Why do this? It's a numbers game. There is a threshold to reach before FEMA Federal dollars become available and they are sorely needed. Even if you are taking care of the damage yourself, reporting it lets the impact of this storm be known to the "powers that be." It can help your less fortunate neighbors get aid.
Need help reporting? The Cutler Library will be open extra hours, 11-5 Sunday and Monday, so you can use the computers and WIFI. (You can even just come sit in the clean calm and air-conditioned space.)
Information found at the Vermont Emergency Management Team website.
