the books have this vibe that’s so easy to get into, like you start reading and suddenly you’re fully in that world without even trying. everything feels fast-paced but still meaningful, and the humor is everywhere in the best way. it never feels too heavy but it still manages to hit emotionally when it needs to, which is honestly such a hard balance to get right.
and the series?? i had so many expectations going into it because this story means a lot, and i was lowkey scared it wouldn’t feel the same. but there’s something about actually seeing the characters on screen, hearing the dialogue, watching the world come to life, that just makes everything feel more real. like camp half-blood existing visually?? the vibes are just there.
i think what i like the most overall is how the story doesn’t try to be overly complicated but still ends up being really layered. it’s about quests and monsters and gods, but also about growing up, feeling out of place, finding your people, and dealing with things that aren’t fair. it feels fun and serious at the same time without forcing it.
and okay this might be controversial but i don’t even fully love the books themselves like that. i know. i said it. it’s not that they’re bad at all, they’re actually really good, but for me it’s more about the world, the characters, and the overall idea than the actual reading experience. like i’m way more attached to what the story is than how it’s written sometimes.
but that almost makes it more interesting?? because even if i’m not obsessed with every page, i’m still completely obsessed with everything it created. the characters, the relationships, the universe, the feeling of it. it’s one of those things where the impact is bigger than the format.
and honestly that’s why i’ll always care about it. it’s not just about liking a book series, it’s about loving everything that came from it.
