In our first meeting, we kicked things off by chatting about the difference between AI and AGI. I explained that AI, or artificial intelligence, focuses on machines performing specific tasks—like chatbots answering questions. Then we dove into AGI, or artificial general intelligence, which would be like a human brain in a computer, capable of learning and applying knowledge across various tasks. Everyone got really into the discussion, and it was a great way to start our club!

Our discussion focused on using AI in a school setting, making it more of an ethics-based meeting. We kicked around some really thought-provoking topics, like Duke University's new essay policies that address the impact of AI on academic integrity. It was interesting to consider how AI tools are changing the way we approach assignments and what that means for students.

We also touched on the use of AI in gambling, which sparked a lively debate about the implications of technology in that area. Plus, we talked about a new AI model that’s been making waves. It was awesome to see everyone engaged and sharing their opinions on these important issues as we explored the role of AI in our lives and the ethical considerations that come with it.

This was the first meeting for "Ask the Pope AI," we started by gathering information for the chatbot. It was exciting to brainstorm what kinds of questions and topics we wanted the bot to cover!

During our discussion, we also learned about an ex-Google engineer who stole over 500 confidential files. It was wild to hear about the implications of that kind of breach and how it highlights the importance of security in AI. Overall, it was a great first meeting that set a solid foundation for our club!

This meeting started with a theory of mine: "If we can put a biography of someone into an AI, could we recreate that person?" Since we are a Catholic school, I decided that making a "Jesus AI" would be a good idea. It brought up fruitful comments; we all learned much from it while having fun. Next, I taught my classmates how the code looks from the backend of an AI bot. Then, we discussed the new robot from Figure.

Art is a very important part of every civilization, but how will AI affect it? Is it okay to use AI for art? If so.. when? And what type of art? Music? Paintings? These were the topics that were debated in this meeting. From "Glorb", Photoshop AI, and movie art, we weighed the pros and cons of each. We also discussed NVIDIA's new GPU and AI music protection laws.

New year, new goals! We have finished our chatbot learning. Now, we have a bigger fish to fry: Computer Vision. In addition to improving our chatbot based on user feedback, we discussed the moral dilemmas that come with Tesla's new robots. Finally, we started learning about Kernals in AI Vision and how we use it daily.

So we know how an AI "sees," which is cool, but what does it do with it? How does it decide its next action? If you are in a stats class, you might have a pretty good understanding of how this works. This meeting discussed how an AI uses numbers and statistics to make choices. We then made our own choice scenarios before putting an AI against tough moral dilemmas.
