Servals
Black Footed Cat (Lory Park Zoo)
Meow and roar! Large and small cats have different needs to dogs!
Most are solitary—with exceptions, such as lions. Social enrichment can be challenging, but not impossible.
Some like water—tigers, jaguars and more, and some surprise you: Servals like water too.
Most cats are nocturnal, thus colour might not be important. Rather think about contrast / shapes and movement.
Smells hold a lot of information for cats and are a great way to offer olfactory sensory stimulation.
Vantage points or points of view; cats and most animals like to see their world. Create areas where the animal can view their world—cheetahs like to climb up on things to get vantage, leopards climb up high to feel safe.
Hearing, all cats have great hearing—apply that knowledge and create sound with movement!
A fun fact: The term panther, (black panther) stems from the scientific name Panthera. So lions are Pantera leo, Tigers are Pantera tigris, Jaguars are Pantera pardus and so on.
