Coach Jones has over a decade of coaching experience, where Jones spent four years coaching baseball from club to high school, a decade of track/field, and boys golf. He also started Arizona's first public high school trap & skeet shotgun team.
With his sights set on continuing his successful coaching career at Pinnacle HS, Coach Jones has created a network of skilled events coaches to help track and field athletes achieve their highest standards. The priorities of the Pioneer Track and Field team are to compete as a system within individual events. Excellence and commitment to each competitor's event are the foundation for success with this team. Pinnacle is dedicated to teaching team unity, responsibility, perseverance, and commitment to its track and field athletes.

COACH McINERNEY
Assistant Head Coach
Coach McInerney grew up in the midwest and played all available sports in high school. She joined the US Military out of high school then graduated fom Arizona State University with her education degree. She has been teaching in the PVUSD for over 15 years, has been a certified personal trainer that entire time and has coached cross country as well as track and field here at Pinnacle since joining Pinnacle.
COACH SCHOUTEN

Coach Schouten is a married, father of 3 girls and owner of 2 Private Preschools.
He attended Sunnyslope high school here in the valley playing four sports. His Junior and Senior years he went to state in four events. Sacramento State is where he ran three event for two years before transferring to ASU to graduate with a business and tourism degree.

Coach McConnon is a life time track enthusiast since starting track and field at 8 yers old. He was a club team USATF National Qualifier four times including his high school hurdle and long jump records. He continued his track career at Minnesota State University in the 110 hurdles and Long jump events.
He is thrilled to have been a part of helping his high school athletes attain 13 school records, 4 state championships, and supported 7 division 1 college recruits.
COACH SHANNON
Distance Runners Coach
Coach Shannon is a local product of the Paradise Valley School District who then went on to ASU to earn his bachelors degree in K-12 Physical Education. He is also a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach. While not coaching cross country and track and field at Pinnacle he can be found coaching Explorer Middle School's Distance Track and Field athletes as well as teaching Physical Education to students at Desert Shadows Elementary.
His proudest accomplishment was having a team GPA of 3.8 over the course of his tenure at Shadow Mountain. Pinnacle Cross Country's current average team GPA sits at 4.00, a true testament to putting the student before the athlete.
Throws Coach
Coach Stephney was born on an army base in Germany and raised in southeastern Kansas. He attended the university of Missouri where he played football and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in architectural engineering. This is his 12th year coaching youth sports and his 4th with Pinnacle Track and Field. His main goal every season is to prepare the athletes he coaches for the transition into their post high school lives by teaching the importance of training, goal setting, volunteering and appreciating those around you.
