About
Who we are
Pilot Journey is an independent information and guidance project for students in India who want to become commercial pilots. Choosing a flight school, understanding the DGCA exams, clearing the medical and working out the real cost can feel confusing, and a lot of the advice online is really advertising. We exist to help you make these decisions with clear, honest information.
Pilot Journey is not part of the DGCA or any government body, and it is not affiliated with any flight school or training academy.
Why we do this
A wrong choice at the start of a pilot career can cost a lot of money and time. Our aim is simple: give students and parents plain-language guides, and free one-to-one guidance if they want it, so they can decide for themselves.
What we cover
How to become a pilot in India after 12th, including eligibility, PCM and NIOS questions
CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) training routes, timelines and costs, in India and abroad
DGCA exams, the eGCA portal and the DGCA computer number
DGCA Class 1 and Class 2 medicals, and vision standards
Choosing a flying school, cadet programmes versus self-sponsored training, and ground classes
Pilot news and updates that matter to aspiring pilots
Free one-to-one guidance
If you would like personal guidance, fill in our short form. It is free. A counsellor contacts you only after you submit the form, and never before.
How we make our guides
Pilot Journey guides are researched from official sources such as DGCA rules, circulars and published notices. We use AI tools to help draft and structure articles, and guides are checked against the cited sources before they are published. Rules change, so please always confirm important details on the official DGCA website or with the relevant authority before you act. If you spot an error, tell us through the Contact page and we will correct it.
Editorial independence
Our guides are written to inform you, not to push you towards any particular school, course or product. We do not accept payment to rank or recommend a flight school, and we do not use affiliate links in our guides. If this ever changes, we will say so clearly on the page concerned.
