There are presently around 50 active pickleball players in Pierre. Of these, the majority have played for several years. Since the inception of the sport in Pierre, an estimated 143 people have played, most for at least a few months, and again, many for years. If we count visitors who play while in the area, that number would increase. We have played pickleball year-round, whether outdoors at the Griffin Park tennis courts; or indoors at the YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club, or Faith Lutheran Church.
