FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to have any previous experience or skills to attend the Maker Camp? Not at all! But if you do, that's not a bad thing! This camp is designed to introduce students to skills such as coding, soldering, and 3D printing. We have worked with students of varying skill levels from no experience to those quite familiar with a skill.

Is there a dress code for the camp? Students should follow a basic dress code as is found in most schools, including no short shorts, tank tops, or clothing with profanity, etc. Please be sure to wear close-toed shoes on Wednesday for the field trips!

Will lunch be provided? Yes, lunch is provided daily. Light snacks and drinks are available throughout the day as well. If you have any dietary restrictions please let camp administrators know as soon as possible.

Is transportation to or from camp provided? Daily transportation to or from camp is not provided, and is the responsibility of the student and their family. We do provide transportation for the field trip on Wednesday.

What is STREAM? STREAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Reading/writing, Engineering, Arts/design, and Mathematics. STREAM is a version of STEM which is modified to include technical reading and writing as well as design and arts. This recognizes the importance of being able to communicate well and appreciates the importance of design in STEM endeavors.
