About

I am an assistant professor in Applied Design (www.designinwv.net) at a community college in North Central West Virginia. Did my plan include teaching? No. STEM? Again, no. Would I go back and change things to give up my current position? Definitely no.

Sometimes life just doesn't work out the way you planned it to, and that's okay. Because sometimes it leads you to a path more rewarding than you could have imagined, and that's where I am in my career with Pierpont Community and Technical College.

I teach all things DESIGN to students of all ages and from all walks of life. I see the fresh-out-of-high-school kids with their entire future ahead of them; I see the non-traditional students trying to find a new career. Each has their own needs and styles of learning, and I love the challenge of finding new ways to connect with all of them. My job is rewarding at the end of the day and I am grateful that sometimes things simply don't go the way they are supposed to, because if they did I wouldn't be here.
