What PickupLock does


PickupLock helps Shopify merchants block shipping when a cart contains pickup-only products.


How to use PickupLock


1. Add this exact product tag to products that must only be picked up in store:


ship:pickup_only


2. Enable the PickupLock cart warning in your Shopify theme editor.


3. Make sure local pickup is enabled in Shopify.


4. Test your store before launch.


Recommended tests


Test 1: Normal product only

Expected result: Shipping should be available.


Test 2: Pickup-only product only

Expected result: Shipping should be blocked, and pickup should remain available.


Test 3: Mixed cart

Expected result: If the cart contains both normal products and pickup-only products, shipping should be blocked for the entire order, and pickup should remain available.


Common issue: Pickup is not available


If pickup is not available, check the following:


- Local pickup is enabled in Shopify.

- The pickup location has a valid address.

- The product is in stock at the pickup location.

- The product is available on the Online Store sales channel.

- The product has the exact tag ship:pickup_only.


Common issue: Shipping is still available


Check the following:


- The product tag is exactly ship:pickup_only.

- The app is installed and active.

- The delivery customization is enabled.

- The cart contains a product with the pickup-only tag.
