This Privacy Policy explains how PickupLock handles data when merchants install and use the PickupLock Shopify app.

1. What PickupLock does


PickupLock helps Shopify merchants mark products as pickup-only by using the product tag ship:pickup_only.


When a cart contains one or more pickup-only products, PickupLock:

- Shows a warning message in the cart before checkout.

- Hides shipping options at checkout.

- Keeps in-store pickup available.


2. Information we access


PickupLock may access the following Shopify store information in order to provide the app functionality:


- Store information required to install and run the app.

- Product data, including product tags, so the app can identify products tagged ship:pickup_only.

- Cart and checkout delivery information required by Shopify Functions to determine whether shipping options should be hidden.

- Theme extension settings, including the merchant’s cart warning message and styling choices.


3. Customer data


PickupLock does not intentionally collect, store, sell, or share customer personal data.


The cart warning runs in the merchant’s storefront and checks the cart only to determine whether it contains pickup-only products. This information is used only to display the warning and does not get sold or used for advertising.


4. Payment data


PickupLock does not collect or process customer payment card information.


Payments are handled by Shopify and the merchant’s selected payment providers.


5. Support data


If a merchant contacts us for support, we may receive information such as:

- Name

- Email address

- Store URL

- Support request details


We use this information only to respond to support requests and improve the app.


6. Data sharing


We do not sell merchant or customer data.


We may share information only when required to:

- Operate the app through Shopify’s platform.

- Comply with legal obligations.

- Respond to valid legal or regulatory requests.


7. Data retention


We keep app-related data only for as long as needed to provide the app, support merchants, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.


If a merchant uninstalls PickupLock, app access to the store is removed. Support emails may be retained for a reasonable period for recordkeeping and support history.


8. Security


We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect app-related data.


9. Merchant responsibilities


Merchants are responsible for configuring their Shopify store, products, delivery settings, local pickup settings, and legal customer communication correctly.


PickupLock helps enforce pickup-only shipping rules, but merchants remain responsible for ensuring that their store complies with applicable laws and regulations.
