About Me

I am from rural North Carolina, the picture above is from where I grew up!

I attended Alamance Community College during high school and graduated high school with both my Associate's in Arts and Science. I then went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go heels!) where I studied mathematics and minored in Education as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. For my last semester, I was a student teacher back at my home high school, which was written about in the local paper here

After graduating from Chapel Hill, I began studying at Wake Forest University under Hugh Howards. In collaboration with both Dr. Howards and at the time WFU postdoc Thomas Kindred, I studied non-zero classes in Khovanov Homology.

Now, I live in Lexington, Kentucky where I am a second year graduate student at the University of Kentucky. I am currently working on preliminary exam preparation, but I am starting work in algebraic geometry with Dave Jensen.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my dog, hiking, and learning about coffee. While at Wake Forest, I worked at a bakery/coffee shop where I got to learn a lot about how coffee is made! Below I have included a few pictures of my dog, Olive, and some pictures from other non-math related activities.
