Nanophotonics
The development of nanotechnologies has enabled the breaking of diffraction limit in photonics, opening the field of Nanophotonics, including the understanding and utilizing the platforms of photonic crystals and plasmonics.Â
The field of metamaterials has also allowed the access to extreme wave behaviors beyond natural ones, such as ultrahigh or zero index, negative refraction, and longitudinal oscillation of light field [Phys. Rev. Lett. 120, 203901 (2018)].
Here, we are focusing on utilizing nanophotonic & metamaterial platforms to innovate the performance of photonic computing systems, such as programmable nanophotonic circuits.
