Semester II+IV+VI students doing Lab. Pictures of Actions:
New Experimental Set ups have came to our Department on 18-june-2025. Thanks to Netaji Mahavidyalaya College authority. The faculties can access the lab manuals. The students have to do the experiment in our college.
To determine the wavelength and velocity of ultrasonic waves in a liquid (Kerosene Oil, Xylene, etc.) by studying the diffraction through ultrasonic grating. [no lab manual provided]
To determine the excitation potential of mercury/Argon by Franck-Hertz experiment. [manual]
To measure the resistivity of a semiconductor (Ge) with temperature by four-probe method (room temperature to 150 degree C) and to determine its band gap. [manual]
To setup the Millikan oil drop apparatus and determine the charge of an electron. [manual]
Friday the 13th. Generally it is thought as "UNLUCKY" day in western superstition. But for these BLUE WHALES, they made the day marvellous with their presence, happiness and intelligence. This is our Semester-VI outgoing batch in 2025. Ironically they are the last CBCS batch (2022-2025). The CBCS system was started at the University of Burdwan from July-2017. The NEP is current format we are teaching in our college.
**many thanks to Sukanya Pal, who shared the picture.

Teachers' Day 2024
Today (29th August, 2024) we went to Sri Ramkrishna Sarada Vidya Mahapitha (also known as Kamarpukur College ) for a quiz competition organized by IQAC of that college. They organised this program with those institutions with whom they have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It was a privilege to represent the college in this program, and, luckily two students from Physics department was selected to attend this Quiz Competition.
Dr. Mousumi Ghosh, Principal of Sri Ramkrishna Sarada Vidya Mahapitha, presented the certificate to the students. The Quiz master, Sri Samaresh Bandopadhyay, managed the program with great enthusiasm.
We just missed the third position and got a participation certificate only. But it was a lesson to learn for all of us. We enjoyed the one day visit there. Dr. Somenath Jalal visited the Physics Department, Sri Ramkrishna Sarada Vidya Mahapitha and talked to the faculties there for any future collaborations with our Netaji Mahavidyalaya.
Here are some pictures.
Today (07-August-2024) we started our new journey with Semester 1 students of 2024 batch. They have taken admission in 4 years and 3 years Physics Major Course at Department of Physics, Netaji Mahavidyalaya.
Welcome to you all
Today (26-July, 2024) our Sem-6 students visited the Physics Department and spent a valuable moment with us. They have gifted us Guava plant as a memento. Here are some pictures to save the moments in our timeline:
