Mechanics
Classical Concepts
Classical Physics is concerned with macroscopic phenomena and excludes descriptions of the very small -
(in the order of the nano-scale and smaller), and the very fast (in the order of the speed of light).
This module deals with concepts of Classical Physics and makes up 25% of the Physical Sciences 1 mark.
The first topic we will look at is Mechanics.
A group assessment will be given at the conclusion of this module.
An Exit Ticket is available on this page.
You are encouraged to fill one in at the end of each session for the module.
The submission of a ticket is completely anonymous and helps us to improve our offering.
It only takes about 2 minutes!
Mechanics includes
1. A brief history of motion
2. Kinematics
- the description of motion using words, diagrams, equations and graphs
3. Dynamics
- the study of the forces which cause motion or a
change in motion using words, diagrams, equations, graphs
Let's begin!
Starter Task

Mechanics resources below
2. Gather:
examples of scientific & technological
achievements of humans up to 1992
for the next session
End of Task.
