Introduction

I have always had a passion for art. I am a fiber artist, combining my background in collage and printmaking with the medium of fabric. Creating art with textiles is fun and exciting. I find it relaxing, therapeutic, and necessary to my well-being.

I live in West Hartford, Connecticut, with Howard, my husband of 58 years. Through the years I have been inspired by many artists and wonderful teachers. You will see the results in my experimentation with different media—from pen and ink, collage, paint, pottery, printing, and papermaking to quilting. Some themes like the chairs, have travelled through time. Grids have shown up early in my work foreshadowing the basic construction of quilts.

I turn 80 this year, the year the first woman vice president takes office. The strangeness of the past year, the social unrest, and the once-in-a-century pandemic has made piecing this show together a welcome focus. I have enjoyed revisiting the themes in my work that have reappeared and transformed through the years.

Welcome to my 80 @ 80.
