Phuc Trinh is a cybersecurity student with a strong sense of service and a desire to make a positive impact in communities. Phuc served in the navy for four years, where they were responsible for maintaining and repairing communication systems. They pursued a degree in cybersecurity to build on their military experience and develop skills in protecting against cyber threats. Phuc hopes to make a difference by working against advanced threat persistence (ATP) and enhancing cybersecurity practices in the community.

Phuc has gained experience in project management as the Chief Management Officer of Electronics for Enchanted Pets, where they managed the overall project, documented a Gnatt chart, built IoT electronic components with MicroPython, and collaborated with the Chief Technical Officer to ensure the Android app functioned fully with IoT components. They have also gained experience as a graphic designer for ACT NOW Education, where they launched brand guidelines, screened scholarship applications, and provided feedback to improve the system.

In their current position as a student trainee at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Phuc has screened 600+ Enterprise Research Data Security Plan (ERDSP) projects, migrated old databases from an on-premised system to a private cloud, and configured directory permissions, upgraded BIOS, and antivirus for portable medical stations. Phuc is passionate about their work and hopes to gain experience and knowledge that will enable them to make a positive impact in their community.

I'm a senior at San Jose State University with a focus on Engineering Technology and Computer Network System Management, as well as a minor in Business. Recently transitioning from Active Duty to Reserve, I'm now able to devote more time to my studies and professional pursuits. During my time in service, I discovered my passion and career path in networking and the cyber security field, recognizing the important role it will play in the next few years.

With Azure and AWS Cloud Computing expertise, as well as certifications in CompTIA A+, Net+, and Sec+, an Active Secret Clearance, and over 11 years of experience in Information Technology, I am a skilled Network Specialist. I have a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service while managing competing priorities and upholding quality, customer service, and integrity. I possess comprehensive experience in database security, network maintenance and administration, and have demonstrated expertise in diagnostic and preventative maintenance on equipment and software to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Moreover, I am highly proficient in independently problem-solving while leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams of up to 300+ personnel to deliver high-quality, innovative products. I am excited about the future of technology and my role in it, and am always eager to learn and grow in my field.
