PAID Summer work with Apple Valley 

Hello Educators, Instructors, Directors, and Artists!

My name is Emily Villano- I am the Theater Program Coordinator at Apple Valley High School and one half of ETC Productions along with Erin Schwab (Director at Apple Valley High School). I wanted to pass along some information about a paid Summer theater tour opportunity for your students in partnership with Apple Valley High School Theater. 

Each Summer, we produce a touring family-friendly musical that performs across the Metro. This Summer, we're touring The Little Mermaid, Jr! Directed by Erin Schwab, Music Direction by Emily Villano, and Choreography by Darrius Strong. 

We hire Performers and Technicians, ages 15-19, to bring this tour to life. Each performance is free, open to the public, and brought to community spaces. The 2021 Tour of Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr, the 2022 Tour of Seussical, Jr, the 2023 Tour of Madagascar, Jr, and the 2024 Tour of Shrek, Jr, performed at summer camps, community centers, in public parks, churches, theaters, parking lots, event spaces, the MN State Fair and more! Performers and Technicians are paid a $100 rehearsal stipend and $27 per performance (last Summer, there were 45 performances!). 

We're accepting virtual audition submissions and technician applications Tuesday, January 2nd, 2025 through Thursday, January 9th, 2025. We will review the virtual submissions and will reach out to folks that we would like to invite in for in-person auditions or interviews. In-person auditions and interviews will take place on January 11th at Apple Valley High School and January 12th at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis. If invited for in-person auditions or interviews, students can choose whichever date/location is most accessible to them.
