Thank you to everyone who has helped to make the PhotoVoice project so successful! Student researchers greatly appreciated your attendance at their reception.
Westfield Public Schools founded the transition program in 2007 with the help of Western Mass Hospital allowing them to stay in their space. They started with six students with intellectual disabilities attending. These days the program has more than 25 students. EMR is focused on self-determination, travel skills, and safety awareness. Students also participate in programs at Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University through the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI). East Mountain Road has received numerous awards for their advocacy and preparation of their students for life after school.
