Judi Miller is a multi-award winning textile artist based in Kanata, Ont. Using thread, a textile base, and a sewing machine, Judi references photographs for composition when starting her works. She then sketches out her vision and may fill in the background with watercolour pencil, silk paints or dyes to as needed to produce the desired results. Using free motion machine embroidery, the sewing machine needle is used as a painter would use a paint brush.
