I started archiving my news items and adding more group highlights in Fall 2022:
My PhD student Ian Walter successfully defended his dissertation titled "Modeling Demand Dynamics for Optimal Design of Evolving Products"
I am excited to share that I have accepted an invitation to serve as an Assistant Director of ICON (Center for Innovation in Control, Optimization, and Networks)
My PhD student Brooks Butler successfully defended his dissertation titled "Collaborative Safe Formation Control for Coupled Multi-Agent Systems"
NextCom, a new committee formed by the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) to support and guide students, early career researchers, and young professionals along their way to becoming the next generation of established control systems engineers and researchers, has been announced officially in the IEEE Control Systems Magazine
I am honored to share that I have been elevated to an IEEE Senior Member
Our paper titled "Adaptive Identification of SIS Models," led by my PhD student Chi Ho Leung, was selected as a finalist for the Best Student Paper Award at the Indian Control Conference
I am proud to announce that my PhD Student Ciyuan Zhang has successfully defended his dissertation
I am honored to announce my new title: Rita Lane and Norma Fries Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
I am honored and excited to announce that my NSF CAREER Award titled "Learning, Estimation, and Control of Networked Epidemic Processes" has been funded by the NSF-ECCS Program
My proposal, titled "Learning Time-Varying Network Structure from Sparse Epidemiological Data,'' written jointly with Dr Ashish Hota from IIT Kharagpur, has been funded as part of the US-India Collaborative Research Program, National Science Foundation, a program that is receiving the highest-possible visibility; the NSF Director has met several times with his Indian counterpart about this, and it was even a topic of discussion when President Biden made his recent Asia trip. This project is supplemental funding for my grant titled "Collaborative Research: A Comprehensive Approach to Modeling, Learning, Analysis and Control of Epidemic Processes over Time-Varying and Multi-Layer Networks," funded by the NSF-ECCS Program
We had a farewell gathering for my postdoc Dr Baike She before he left for University of Florida. We had fun despite the weather (Brooks Butler, Ian Walter, Prof. Paré, Ciyuan Zhang, Dr. Baike She, Humphrey C. H. Leung, ; left to right):
My PhD student Ciyuan Zhang was selected as a finalist for the IFAC Young Author Award for our paper titled "A Networked Competitive Multi-Virus SIR Model: Analysis and Observability" at the IFAC Conference on Networked Systems (NecSys 22)
Part of my group had a successful trip to the 2022 American Control Conference in Atlanta (Prof. Paré, Ciyuan Zhang, Dr. Baike She, and Humphrey C. H. Leung; left to right)
I have signed this open letter from Purdue women faculty in engineering to Pres. Daniels as an ally
