Description of Project: The purpose of this project is to explore global technology issues and practice core digital literacy skills while using online collaboration tools and application software. This project has students working in small groups to research and collaborate. Students will compare and contrast global communities and their use and availability of technology.
Details of project: My partner and I chose two different areas on the planet. My area was Brazil while my partner's was the Netherlands. We researched the areas using scholarly sources. We kept in mind to focus on demographics, climate, and technology. Technology was the main focus on this project. While researching, technology usage, culture, and divide were the main focus.
Lessons Learned: I learned that there are many areas in the world that have many different cultures. These different areas have different aspects that influence daily life. I also noticed that this influenced technology usage which is a main aspect in our lives today. I learned how to use Microsoft word formatting, fact vs. opinion, and other aspects in digital literacy.
