Pacific herring are vital to the environment, economy, and culture of Alaska. However, despite their importance, vital genetic features about the species remain understudied. By using modern genomic techniques, our lab group at the University of Alaska Fairbanks are researching herring genetic topics to better understand herring in Alaska.
