I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in the evolution of phenotypic diversity. I use reptiles and amphibians as model organisms, and combine tools like geometric morphometrics, multivariate statistics, and phylogenetic comparative methods to provide a better understanding of the links between morphology, ecology, and selection, and decipher the evolutionary meaning of diversity at the micro- and macro-evolutionary scale. In addition to empirical research, I am interested in theoretical studies of quantitative methods and tools for quantifying phenotypic diversity.

I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in the integrative understanding of phenotypic and genetic diversity and its application to conservation. I develop biogeographic research aimed to provide a better understanding of how evolutionary and ecological forces interact at distinct scales to produce the astonishing patterns of phenotypic and genetic variation that can be recognized in nature, and consequently, to identify threatening factors and anticipate conservation needs for biodiversity under anthropogenic change. I frequently use ectotherms, particularly viper species, as model organisms.
