Phan Xuan Tan is an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering at Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan. From 2009 to 2015, he served as a Network Administrator and Head of the E-learning Department at the Network Information Center (BKNIC) at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam.

He earned a B.E. degree in Electrical-Electronic Engineering from the Military Technical Academy, and an M.S. degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. in Functional Control Systems from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan.

From 2018 to 2022, he worked as an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at SIT. In October 2019, he was appointed Vice Director of the Innovative Global Program, a honored English-based research-oriented undergraduate program. In April 2022, he was promoted to Associate Professor (tenure-track), and a year later, he attained full-time tenured Associate Professor status.
