Professor: Dr. Guiliano Scarcelli

Comment: Scarcelli is the best! This class is easier if you've taken AP stat or any stat class but he's super cool and funny and even though his class was at 8am everyone always showed up. Exams aren't bad.

Course: PSYC336

Professor: Elizabeth Sauber

Comment: There is no participation taken in class, and Friday work is all online. A group project makes up the majority of grades throughout the semester and online discussion boards as well as the exam grades. Material can be a little dry at times.

Professor: Marsha Guenzler-Stevens

Comment: This is a class on women's leadership, which is topical to all PHA women. The class is interesting and more introspective than theory based and Marsha, who is the Director of Stamp, is awesome and a sorority woman herself.

Comment: Super easy management class for business majors. Really liked the prof. Exams all MC and optional final. There were quizzes before each class on the textbook chapter we were covering that day but you really didn't need to read to do well on them.

Course: INAG110

Professor: JoEllen Barnhart

Comment: Absolutely LOVED her. Took this class once a week on Wednesday's at night, but she always let out class early on top of giving us breaks since it's a long class. Sweetest professor ever and possibly my favorite here at UMD. Rarely gave anyone below an A- on speeches

Comment: Teaching almost entirely through examples. Class turns into being him rambling for an hour and teaching for 15 minutes. Very approachable for office hours but the book explains things in a more concise way.

Rate: 10/10

Course: BMGT350

Professor: Lefkoff

Comment: She is a dynamic professor who cares a lot about what she is talking about. Course material itself is a little dry and the exams are not the easiest; however, there are lots of opportunities to get your grade up otherwise with weekly assignments. Decent amount of work, but if you do the work you'll end up with a good grade.

Rate: 7/10

Course: BMGT380

Professor: Richard Daniels

Course: Honestly, he made this class super enjoyable. He appears intimidating at first, but is willing to go above and beyond to help you out. You have to read the cases before class because he asks people to explain them, but he goes through the chapter during the class so reading beforehand isn't necessary. His lecture the class before exams are SUPER helpful because he gives you a really good idea of what is on the exam.

Rate: 9/10

Course: HESI217

Professor: Don't remember specific professor, they're all wonderful though

Comment: It counts as DSSP, it's so easy and you learn about yourself as a leader. It can be kind of cheesy at times, but it's easy and fun! After this class I started the Leadership Studies Minor, which was a great experience, gpa boost and resume builder.

Rate: 10/10

Course: BMGT301

Professor: Wei Chen

Comment: You have to go to class for this course because you have in class quizzes each class. The quizzes aren't very hard and the exams are open note. He is a little hard to understand, but you can get all the important information off the slides. The final is really difficult, even with a cheat sheet, so it's helpful to pay attention in class. Also, he doesn't make you get a book which is pretty cool.

Rate: 7/10

Course: GEOL100

Professor: Centorbi

Comment: Class is minimal work and there are in class assignments once a week, usually Fridays. Exams are these things called concept sketches which she gives you ahead of time, so you just need to memorize them for the exams. The sketches are super time consuming to memorize and annoying, but she also gives some extra credit opportunities and drops your lowest test grade.

Course: ENGL393 (online)

Professor: Saalfeld

Comment: kinda an harda** but assignments are generally quick and graded easily. He made me pick a new topic for my final paper 6 times but besides that he doesn't grade too harshly (I've gotten a 96+ on everything so far). Assignments are due every M, W, and F but it's only 15-20 min of work for each day (besides the 3 big papers)

Rate: 7/10

Course: BMGT340

Professor: Hallows

Comment: A lot of people don't like her, but she's really not that bad. She goes through problems quickly so definitely do the hw/video lectures before class otherwise you'll be lost. Assignments take a decent amount of time (probably 3ish hours/week) but they help a lot with learning the material. I prefer Hallows over Padhi 100%

Comment: class was super easy but INCREDIBLY boring. however, its an easy A. Weekly assignments that you will almost always get full points for (got a 100 on all of them) and a midterm and final that its hard to not get an A on. Fulfills a gen-ed requirement

Professor: Janna Soeder

Comment: She is amazing. Tests are online and super easy because you don't have to take them in the class. It's a comm upper level but also can be a gen ed requirement. She's really cool and the information you learn in the class is actually interesting

Professor: Olga Walker

Comment: Online class with Dr Walker. a lot of reading each week but as long as you do that, it's an easy A on all the projects, quizzes and exams. the course content is interesting. you have to manage your time but if you spread it out, it's hardly a commitment for a 3 credit class. As an online course I was impressed with how quickly she responds via email to questions.

Rate: 9/10

Course: JOUR/WMST452

Professor: Renee Poussaint

Comment: This class is literally just discussions every day and only 4 assignments the whole semester-that being said they are each worth a huge part of your grade. she never discusses the assignments (all papers/presentations) in class, so you basically have very little guideline to follow. huge research paper at end. she's really smart and impressive as a professor. but the class is definitely geared towards people who like to write and don't need a lot of direction. very interesting content overall though

Course: HLTH377

Professor: Jenna Messman

Comment: A super interesting and engaging class! Jenna is an amazing professor that is really passionate and knowledgable about human sexuality. One of the easiest classes I've taken here, easy A. Highly recommend.

Rate: 10/10

Course: ECON414

Comment: He does not clarify anything well and is extremely unavailable for if you need any additional help. He's also extremely boring. There are plenty of other upper level ECON electives to take so take those instead!

Rate: 1/10

Course: BMGT360

Professor: Dr. Kudish

Comment: He's a smart guy with a lot of energy and you can tell he really is passionate about this class and what he hopes you'll learn from it. The in class exercises are honestly annoying though, and his exams are tricky. If you study everything based off the slides and pay attention during lecture you'll do well.

Rate: 7/10

Course: BMGT301

Professor: GT Ozer

Comment: You can tell he cares a lot not only about the subject, but also about the students. He incorporates a lot of student feedback throughout the semester through a series of quick surveys (which are graded for completion and help boost your grade!). You don't have to go to lecture but it's definitely helpful and, at least to me, interesting/engaging.

Rate: 9/10

Course: PLCY313

Professor: Evans

Comment: One of the easiest policy electives you can take! The tests are extremely easy if you go to class and he will let you not take the final if you get 100% on the midterm (about 40% of my class didn't have to take the final)!

Rate: 8/10

Course: INAG110

Professor: O'Neil

Comment: Legit the best professor ever! She is the most amazing human you might ever meet. She made a 19th century novel about an unemotional woman interesting (I actually read like 90% of the 300 page book)! Very open to helping you brainstorm for the papers and really wants you to do well!

Course: AREC200

Professor: Sara Lombardi

Comment: She's particular about her grading, but she gets really excited and into the lessons that she teaches. She teaches the first portion of this class and I definitely missed when the second half of the semester came around.

Rate: 8/10

Course: AREC200

Professor: Jorge Holzer

Comment: He's hard to understand and get frustrated when people don't participate. I would suggest sitting closer to the front so it is better to understand him. He does know what he's talking about when it comes to economics. Don't be intimidated if you're someone who isn't into economics because it was mostly basic stuff

Rate: 5/10

Course: AREC365

Professor: Ken Leonard

Comment: He's super cool and tells a lot of stories. He's pretty forgiving when it comes to grading and drops stuff. If you are allowed to, work on the homework quizzes together. Its a good grade booster

Rate: 7/10

Course: COMM200

Professor: Meridith Styler

Comment: I honestly didn't understand 90% of the readings. The projects weren't difficult unless public speaking freaks you out. My prof really liked being the 'funky' teacher. She's super nice and answers any questions you ask. It is a heavy conversational class

Rate: 6/10

Course: MATH141

Professor: Roohollah Ebrahimian

Comment: Didn't curve his tests, didn't curve his quizzes, and grading wasn't fair. He knows what he's talking about and will try his best to teach you in class and office hours. He would be better if I took Calc 2 before, but I really couldn't keep up in the class and his version of the curve wasn't helpful.

Rate: 7/10

Course: AGNR301

Professor: Daria Scala

Comment: I was so excited for this class and it disappointed me. She's kind of mean to her TAs. I did not find her powerpoints helpful. Take lots and lots and lots of notes so you have answers to her study guide. Take some notes on the readings/podcasts that you can quickly go back to when she asks clicker questions. The actual information is interesting.

Rate: 4/10

Course: ANTH242

Professor: George Hambretcht

Comment: The readings are really difficult to get through. Definitely try to read more than the night before because it gets to be a lot. The prof is super cool and is really into the class. It was his first time teaching it so it was a little disorganized, but he's very approachable and lenient.

Rate: 8/10

Course: ENGL398E

Professor: Michael Winett

Comment: It has nothing to do with economics. If you plan to take it because of the economics specialty, you might as well take a regular professional writing class. Professor Winett is very formal, but nice and has a soothing voice. His projects are kind of extra.

Rate: 5/10

Course: STAT100

Professor: Susan Mazzullo

Comment: Give lots of extra credit opportunities and she really wants you to learn stats. The first month of the class its really easy and she's lenient but once she gets over the grace period she isn't as lenient. She wants you to go to discussion but its not really necessary.
