1. When is the 2nd Philippine Human-Animal Bond Conference happening?
The 2nd Philippine Human-Animal Bond Conference will be conducted on May 30, 2026 (Saturday) at the Leong Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, from 8 AM - 5PM. Registration will start at 8:30 AM.
2. What is this conference about?
The 2nd Philippine Human-Animal Bond Conference aims to advance the understanding and practice of the human–animal bond in the Philippines, bringing together renowned speakers and specialists from institutions and leading universities here and abroad. The event will feature talks and presentations on evidence-based insights and best practices in Animal-Assisted Services (AAS), focusing on their applications in mental health, animal welfare, and environmental health—especially in a post-pandemic context.
3. What are the inclusions participants can expect?
The registration fee covers admission to the conference, AM snacks, lunch, an ID, CPD points for select professions*, and a certificate of participation.
*Please refer to the Home Page for the list of CPD points applicable for each profession.
4. What is the schedule of activities?
Please check the Event Program at the Home page.
5. Can I bring my pet to the conference?
No, pets are not allowed during the conference. However, cerified therapy dogs Hermoso (White Swiss Shepherd) and Parka (Siberian Husky) will be present during the conference.
6. Will there be any opportunities to interact with a therapy dog during the event?
Yes, there will be an opportunity to interact with a Communitails-certified therapy dog during the conference. Certified therapy dogs will be handled by trained professionals and while safety protocols are strictly observed, participation is voluntary and involves minimal but possible risks (e.g., scratches).

7. Are there any virtual options available to attend the conference?
No, we will not be able to provide options for participants to attend the conference virtually.
8. Who is eligible to attend the conference?
Everyone interested in learning more about the human-animal bond is eligible and encouraged to attend the conference.
9. Are CPD points applicable for this conference?
Selected professions can earn CPD units by attending the conference. Please refer to selected professions for CPD points on the Home page. If applying these units to more than one license, please indicate all license numbers during registration.
10. I have dietary restrictions. Can these be accommodated?
Please indicate your dietary restrictions when you register so the conference’s organizing team may prepare accordingly.
11. Will walk-in participants be accommodated?
Yes, walk-in participants will be accommodated.

2. How do I get to the Leong Hall using public transportation?
We recommend taking the LRT-2 to get to Katipunan Avenue, which is where Ateneo de Manila University is located.
How to get to LRT-2 Katipunan Station:
Via LRT-1:
Ride the LRT-1 and alight at Doroteo Jose station
Cross the connecting footbridge to LRT-2 Recto station
Take the LRT-2 to Katipunan station
Via MRT-3
Take the MRT-3 to Cubao Station, then walk through Farmer's Plaza-Gateway Mall to LRT-2 Araneta Center-Cubao Station
Take the LRT-2 to Katipunan Station
Via EDSA Carousel
Go to Gate 10 inside PITX (bus bays 1 to 5 are dedicated to Northbound EDSA Carousel buses with signboards reading "MONUMENTO-MCU-BALINTAWAK"
Ride to Cubao Main Avenue stop
Transfer to LRT-2 at Araneta Center-Cubao and ride to Katipunan station
Exit the LRT-2 Katipunan station through the North Entrance.
Walk south to head to the transport terminal (you will know if you are walking in the correct direction when you pass by the St. Bridget School).
Turn left at the curb.
To take a tricycle going inside Ateneo (they must have an Ateneo sticker), walk straight until the 7-11, where the tricycles are located.
You may also choose to walk from LRT-2 Katipunan Station (South Entrance).
Walk south until you reach the crosswalk to the Katipunan-Aurora Boulevard Footbridge.
After crossing the footbridge, go across the street towards Petron.
Upon reaching Petron, turn left and walk straight until you reach Ateneo Gate 1.
Alternative routes (via jeepney or FX):
From Manila (Ermita, Quiapo, Divisoria, Recto area)
From Divisoria, Recto, Legarda, or Aurora Blvd, ride a jeepney to Cubao
From Cubao, ride a jeepney or FX bound for SSS, Cogeo, Parang, or Masinag and ask to be dropped off at Katipunan, just after PSBA
Cross Aurora Blvd and proceed to the Ateneo entrance
From Cubao
Board a jeep along Aurora Blvd or EDSA bound for Katipunan/UP and alight at the Ateneo gate on Katipunan Avenue
From PITX
Go to Gate 10 inside PITX (bus bays 1 to 5 are dedicated to Northbound EDSA Carousel buses with signboards reading "MONUMENTO-MCU-BALINTAWAK"
Ride to Cubao Main Avenue stop
From Cubao, ride a jeepney or FX bound for SSS, Cogeo, Parang, or Masinag and ask to be dropped off at Katipunan
Cross Aurora Blvd and proceed to the Ateneo entrance
3. How do I navigate inside Ateneo?
Please refer to the campus maps below for vehicle access, parking, pedestrian entry points, and e-shuttle routes going to Leong Hall, Ateneo de Manila University.
For Participants Arriving by Car
Vehicle access to the campus will be through Gate 3. The map highlights designated routes for:
Entering the university
Drop-off in front of Leong Hall
Access to parking areas
Exit routes toward northbound and southbound directions
Recommended parking areas near the venue:

West Carpark
Pedestrian access gates are also indicated on the map:
Gate 1
Gate 2.5
Gate 3.5
Participants entering through Gate 3.5 may walk directly to Leong Hall, as it is located nearby.
For Participants Using the E-Shuttle
Participants entering through Gate 1 or Gate 2.5 are encouraged to use the Ateneo e-shuttle service, as these gates are farther from the venue.
Please take Line A, which passes through Leong Hall.
E-shuttle pick-up points:
Pick-up Point #1: AGS / Ateneo Grade School Stop (for Gate 1 entrants)
Pick-up Point #2: G2.5 / Gate 2.5 Stop (located in front of Gate 2.5)
Please get off at the 3rd stop: Leong Hall.
Kindly allot extra travel time, as shuttle waiting and travel times may vary depending on campus traffic. Operating hours of e-shuttles during weekends are from 6:00AM to 12:00NN only.
4. Do I need to submit anything to enter the Ateneo de Manila University as a non-student?
Please make sure to bring your ID (any valid ID will do). If entering with a vehicle, please enter through Gate 3.
Vehicles without an Ateneo RFID will be instructed to provide IDs to security guards near the gates (this applies for ride-hailing app drivers as well). When asked for the purpose of your visit, please mention that you are visiting the Leong Hall as a participant of the 2nd Philippine Human-Animal Bond Conference.
5. Will parking be available for participants at the conference?
Parking is available at a first come, first serve basis. Parking slots are available at the West Carpark and Northwest Carpark inside Ateneo, both of which are close to Leong Hall. Please ensure that you/your driver brings an ID as this is a requirement of the Ateneo de Manila University to park inside.
If parking slots inside Ateneo de Manila University are filled, we recommend paid parking at the Regis Center. Please note that this is paid parking and the 2nd Philippine Human-Animal Bond Conference team will not be covering participant parking fees.
Regis Center also has a footbridge with access inside Ateneo located nearby the Leong Hall.
Another option for paid parking would be at the UP Town Center, which is a trike ride away from Ateneo de Manila.
6. Does the venue have accommodations for physically disabled participants?
To access higher levels, an elevator is also available for participants with physical disabilities to utilize.
