Physics 12 - Review Package, Practice Test, Original Test and One Retest. but NO Retests !
These rules are non-negotiable. (Not by students and not by Parent(s)/Guardian(s). Please read, follow and respect them.
If you have any issues with these rules, please email me at the beginning of the course. Otherwise, I will assume you have read these rules and agree to abide by them
Rules for Test Days
BE ON TIME, Bring all that you need. NO sharing or resources with others during a test.
All devices and recording devices must be turned to silent or off and stored in your backpack.
All backpacks must be stored at the side of the room.
No trips to the washroom are allowed on test days. Go before you come to class. You cannot leave the room during a test.
Once the order to “hand in the test” has been given, you must stop writing and hand in your test.
Once a test has been handed in, you cannot take it back or have access to it.
Only work written on the test paper will count towards your mark. Anything written on scrap paper will not be evaluated.
Your answers in the answer space stand as your final answer. All answers must be recorded in the answer space. —no exceptions.
No paper leaves the room on test day. My tests are secured.
All test answers must be written neatly and legibly. Questions written in overly small, messy, or faint writing will not be marked, and you will receive a zero for that question.
Don’t cheat*. It is not worth it. You are better than that. If you are caught cheating in my class:
You will receive a ZERO on the test.
A note will be kept in my files and a note of the incident will be passed along to any Awards or Scholarships committee(s) at the school as well cc to your VP and consoler.
An additional note will be sent to the Science Department, which could affect whether any of the science teachers will write you a reference letter or recommend you for certain programs or positions in the school or community.
If you are caught cheating more than once in my class, a conference with you, your parent(s)/guardian(s), and me will be required to address the issue. More importantly, trust between you and me would be broken at that point.
FOR MY PHYSICS 12 STUDENTS ONLY:
If you missed the original test on the scheduled test day, you must take the re-test during the designated rewrite session. This re-test will be your only and final score; there are no additional rewrites allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS! Rewrites are scheduled after school, which is my personal time. I reserve the right to cancel this extra service at any time.
Do not request to take a test or re-test on a different date or during a different block. Such requests have always caused chaos for me in the past, disrupting my marking and, most importantly, your grades. It is also a poor test security practice, and I am not comfortable with it.
Rewrites are always more difficult than the original test. Your rewrite score will be your final mark for the test, whether it is higher or lower.
The main purpose of offering a chance to rewrite a test is to help struggling students improve their marks to a more acceptable level if it is important to them. It is not intended for students to "pad" their marks.
*Cheating means:
Talking to another student during a test.
Copying or allowing others to copy off you on a test or a quiz.
Passing (or exposing) of test paper, notes, scrap paper, calculator(s), and formula/constant sheets to another student during the test.
Making use of materials, devices and/or information and resources not permitted on a test or a quiz. Students in my classes are only ever allowed a clean formula sheet, a clean constant sheet, the test paper and a piece of scrap paper (provided by me) on any test or quiz. No paper leaves my room on test day. Recycling Bin.
The use of any form of recording device (audio, video, images or hand written notes) when a test is returned to you for review is strictly prohibited.
The passing of information and/or resources to other students who have not taken the test yet is also not allowed.
