Tablets are WELCOME in my class, but they are not required. If you have the opportunity to own one that you can write on, I highly recommend it. Laptops are good as well, but Tablets are better for notes taking.

The grades I give you on tests, labs, projects, and exams should not be viewed as a defining factor in your journey as a physics student. These marks serve as a tool for me to communicate your progress at a specific point in time and should be used as a learning opportunity. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to come talk to me about them. However, it is important to keep in mind that your education journey does not end with a grade, and it is important to continue learning and growing even after the assignment or exam is completed. Keep in mind that a low grade today does not mean you will always be unsuccessful and a high grade today does not make you a genius and guarantee future success. The only thing that should define you is your own actions and effort. Don't dwell on setbacks and don't rest on your laurels, keep moving forward and continue to learn and grow as a student.
It is important to note that when completing a lab write-up, the final product should not be considered a perfect representation of the experiment. However, the essential components of a good lab write-up should be present, such as accuracy and effort. A lab write-up is similar to a formal essay in English or Social class, and should be approached with the same level of care and attention to detail. Keep in mind that every science teacher may have their own preferences for the formatting and presentation of a lab write-up, but the core content and quality of the work should remain the focus. The goal is to present a clear and accurate account of the lab experiment, with attention to detail and care in the writing process. See the two sample labs I have provided for you as a guide.
Please note that these review packages are not mine. A teacher in Pitt Meadows made these many years ago. Often he solves problems in a different style than I do. The answers, of course, will end up being the same.
WHY ARE YOU TAKING PHYSICS 12?
After High School, where do I wish to go to school?
After high school, many of you may be considering attending college. In order to be admitted to the college of your choice, you will need to meet certain requirements. To meet these requirements, you will need to obtain certain grades in specific courses. Your current schedule in grade 11/12 allows you the opportunity to achieve the grades and take the courses required for admission. However, some of you may need to take additional courses through online, summer school, or night school in order to meet all requirements. To be successful in these high school courses, you will need to have good work habits and a positive attitude. Remember, you cannot make excuses and must avoid procrastination. Additionally, some of you may need to take on a student loan to cover expenses. To meet all requirements, you will need to manage your time effectively and may need to take on work hours.
Instructions
Gather all your information about post-secondary education: your goals, your program, your timeline, budget, student loans, and any other relevant details.
Enter this information into a Microsoft Word document and save it in a safe place. You can add or change this document as things changes.
Export the document as a PDF.
Upload the PDF to ChatGPT and ask for advice on areas such as budgeting, course planning, loan repayment, and strategies to help you stay on track to finish your diploma or degree within your desired timeline.
Do this with your PARENT(S) if possible.
Aside: Whether you are allowed to use an Ai in your course(s) is up to the discretion of your instructor. Always respect your instructor! However, in your daily life, I would strongly suggest you figure out if an Ai chatbot powered by a large language model (LLM) has a place in your life and how to make the most use out of it.
What diploma/program/degree do I wish to complete?
How many TOTAL credits, type of courses, electives, volunteer work and or any other requirements does my program require of me before I can graduate and obtain my diploma/degree?
What courses do I need to take in my last year/semester to fulfill these graduation requirements? What courses do I need to take prior to this last semester? Continue planning backwards until you get to your first semester/year. This is your ROADMAP to your diploma/degree. (Print it out, stick it up on the wall in your room and make the necessary sacrifices and adjustments to get to the END. - Don't give Up! It will be a bumpy road. If it was easy, then your diploma/degree would not mean much.)
What GPA do I need to obtain and what required courses must I pass (English, Math, Ethics etc...) in my first year in order to be eligible to apply into a particular program/field within my faculty for 2nd year.
Do I have any flexibility with elective courses that I can take to balance my workload in each year/semester? (Some 200 level courses have no perquisites so you can take them in year one. This CAN be true for 300 and 400 level courses for your 2nd and 3rd year).
Can I spread out my courses (Fall, Spring & Summer Terms) to make my course load more manageable? Just because your friend is taking 5 or 6 courses a term doesn't mean you have to. Take responsibility for your own education, don't just follow the crowd. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Forge your own path and run your own race.
Do I need to or can I afford to hire a tutor to help me get pass a difficult course? (English and Calculus etc...)
Last but not least, READ the fine print about "Academic Honesty and Standards" for your institution. Take this VERY SERIOUSLY. It just isn't worth it.
