Gear
Required Gear: Suit, Goggles, Swim Cap, Pull-buoy (only required for swimmers age 11+)
More Info
For suits we do try to provide you with a good option that will hold up throughout the summer with all the chlorine. A suit made of polyester makes a good practice suit! A lycra or nylon suit is typically for racing. We only offer practice type suits, but the kids race in them as well.
Goggles are a necessary part of a swim uniform. You will want to make sure your child has a good-fitting pair. You will also want to have a spare pair that you take to swim meets with you. For some reason, goggles break right before a critical race.
A cap is another optional part of the swim gear. For our team, the girls primarily wear them. The boys wear them at meets, mostly for fun and for the little edge on the competition. Caps for the swim meets will be provided.
Pull Bouys are required for all swimmers over 11 years old.
Sammy Towels are also offered for your swimmer. These are very much like shammy's and is just a small towel that is meant to be used and re-used. These little towels can dry your kid and be put into their backpack, ready to be pulled out again the next day. They typically last 2 - 3 years if taken care of: rinse them out and dry them out if stored for long periods of time.
Shirts and Hoodies are available each year and serve as a small fundraiser for the team. These are not mandatory.
