The organisers welcome three types of contributions:
Brief contributions to showcase work in progress, tools or successful approaches:
Paper contributions (max 4 pages, using the Companion Proceedings format, see below):
Some ideas of possible topics in each submission include, but are not limited to:
Submissions for extended abstracts and short papers should be using the Companion Proceedings template (same as LAK research workshop submissions format). For the posters, please maintain a similar structure and include a single-page PDF file
All submissions are done via EasyChair, following these steps:
Each submission/contribution will be reviewed by at least two reviewers designated by the workshop organisers. The review process is single blind (i.e., reviewers’ identities are not disclosed to those submitting). The comments for each paper will be shared among the reviewers of that paper and the program chairs. Submissions with the highest evaluations will be accepted for presentation in the workshop, pending final review by the program chairs.
After a brief introduction and conceptualisation of the workshop, in the first half of the workshop a rapid series of short presentations (Pecha Kucha style) will provide a backdrop and provocation to think about ways in which we normally provide feedback in HE and present samples of tools and cases in which an approach has been well received or successful (or discuss reasons for failure).
In the second half, breakout groups will be guided with a semi-structured approach to discuss key themes and issues surfaced during presentations (e.g. use of data-informed feedback by students, types of feedback made possible through data, challenges of faculty professional learning, data sources needed for personalisation, etc.).
Depending on the number of submissions, we will provide more details about the timing of these short presentations.
All accepted submissions will be included in the LAK Companion Proceedings. Some of the presentations in the conference may be recorded and made available after the event via this website (slideshare, google slides or pdf).
