With this letter, we, Freskers who are at the very core of our worldwide community, wish to make our observations, feelings and needs heard by the author Cédric Ringenbach and the Endowment Fund.
This letter is a community-led initiative.
The past and present divisions between Cédric Ringenbach and the association (represented by its community, its governance circles
and staff) are not at the service of our movement. This long-term instability consumes a lot of energy, mobilises financial resources and slows down the growth of the movement, whose goal is so important that we must prevent any delay.
Our collective project is facing major risks.
A significant part of the community strongly disagrees with the way the author intends to take the project forward, far from the values which unite us as well as the history which brings us together until today.
It therefore seems urgent that we take action.
The intellectual property of the game, temporarily entrusted to the association by Cédric Ringenbach for a limited period, expires at the
end of 2024. This temporary contract has not yet been renewed, despite numerous attempts, and risks plunging the association into
an unprecedented budgetary crisis and instability.
It should be noted that this temporary contract has been extended by six months as a result of negotiations with the author. He requested €330,000 in return for this extension and personally kept €230,000, despite announcing at the General Assembly in September 2023 that he would "never benefit from the author's rights".
The scenario in which the author captures the fruits of this collective adventure and decides alone how it will continue is unacceptable and contrary to our principles and those of the association.
We also disapprove of the way in which Cédric Ringenbach has selectively communicated his international project over the last
few days. The contours and issues at stake have not been discussed or validated with the people concerned within the association.
The choice expressed by the community at the vote of the General Assembly in September 2023 has not been respected.
The author has taken total control of the future international development and has imposed uncertainty on the association.
Today, we feel deceived, excluded and disrespected.
Today, we choose to speak up; to voice our concerns and to express a heartfelt request: we want to stay together.

We are counting on the discernment of Cédric Ringenbach and the Endowment Fund in response to the voice of us, the Freskers
involved who are signing this letter, and for all those we represent.
We are asking for concrete actions.
This petition was co-written by dozens of members of the community from different roles (Country coordinators, referents from France, referents from international, blue belts, green belts), on the observation of a major disagreement from a very significant part of the community on the author's vision and way of doing things concerning the continuation of the project, taking into account the history.
