Key concepts:
My Urban Ecosystems experience put me on to Narrative Pedagogy (e.g., Connelly and Clandinin, 1990) and I think that's a coherent way to frame Problem-Based Learning; which can be used in many contexts (e.g., Archbald, 2010).
Ultimately, my practice is about helping learners along Bloom's taxonomy. Yes we can deliver content and get basic understanding, but how can we design (+ redesign) sessions to get more evaluation + criticality.
The reviewer overall decision was 'Award' and no revisions.
The final version, albeit without supporting statements, is reproduced here but let me know if the preview isn't working.
I am grateful to my peer mentor, and two referees who provided generous supporting statements. Thank you all.
The word count is 3000 + 10% so almost all my examples maxed that out.
I started writing from a complete blank page in April 2025 and submitted in June 2025. You can probably do it faster.
I am happy to provide application guidance and feedback on drafts; just email me.
This is the successful version with details of the minor revisions and how I addressed them at the end.
I had generous help from my advocate, although their statement is not mine to share, and teaching mentors at the University of Bath.
I found it difficult writing this as there were so few relevant examples publicly available. I'm not saying this is exemplar material, but I hope it is more useful than a blank page.
Be aware that I think there's a debate over whether you are supposed to list your As, Ks, Vs in the text as I did.
Further, this was under the previous PSF2011 standards and not the latest version (PSF2023).
