Peter King

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Environmental Economics in the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds, working on the DRUID project.

Prior to this, I worked on the ERC-funded RELATE project investigating preferences for woodland biodiversity at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, University of Kent (2021 - 23). I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Bath (2018 - 21).

My research is about people's preferences for their environment. My PhD work looked at the marine environment, while my postdoc investigated preferences for woodlands/forests. I use choice experiments to investigate preferences with my work falling into three broad areas; (1) investigating heterogeneity in WTP, (2) investigating spatial and temporal changes in preferences, and (3) how behavioural/environmental attitudes influence choices.

More generally, I'm interested in causal inference and survey methods. Finally, I am also an Associate Fellow of the HEA having taught UG/PG students.
