Prior to my current appointments, I was Assistant Professor of Bioethics and Philosophy at California Northstate University (2021–2025), where I taught philosophy and ethics courses to pre-health-professional students. I have also been Director of the Honors Program and Associate Professor at Pacific Union College (2015–2020). I was housed in the English Department, where in addition to courses in literature, I taught general, major, and Honors courses in ethics, medical humanities, and philosophy of science and language.
How do we encounter other bodies' suffering? How do we derive right action from that encounter? How do we cultivate a disposition toward that right action? And how do these questions play out in healthcare and beyond?
I am currently Clinical Ethics Fellow at University Hospitals, Cleveland Medical Center.
