Dear Teacher Educators,

Thank you for taking a chance on Perspectives In Practice.

This newsletter is by teacher educators, for teacher educators.

Teacher educators come in various shapes and sizes - coaches, facilitators, program managers, trainers, school leaders.; i.e. the identity and role of 'teacher educators' is not exactly well defined.  However it is at the intersection of these varied roles that we understand what it really means to enable learning for teachers.

While the path to becoming a teacher (at least formally) is fairly clear, the same cannot be said for that of a teacher educator. Practitioners often enter the space on the job, figure it out and get better with experience. While this is mighty impressive, we believe that access to foundational knowledge, skills and perspectives can elevate their practice and serve our teachers better.  After all, teacher educators too need support and inspiration to keep at it!

Through this newsletter, we endeavour to create, curate, learn and share knowledge, perspectives and practices in the domain of in-service teacher education. This is towards supporting any practitioner in this space.

Perspectives in Practice is for you. For those who are teacher coaches but also create modules for teacher training. For those who are school leaders but spend a fair amount of time facilitating learning interventions for teachers. For those in this domain who are learning on the job,  and for those  who have a degree and want to get into practice. If teacher learning and development is something you are passionate about, you’re at the right place.
