My Simplified Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti Bolognese is a classic Italian dish that's loved for its rich flavor. The traditional recipe uses ground beef, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and a mix of herbs like oregano and basil. It's a pretty straightforward dish: you brown the beef, add the veggies and tomatoes, let it simmer, and then mix it with cooked spaghetti. It’s comforting and filling, making it a go-to meal for many families.
However, I decided to give this recipe a little makeover to better suit my taste and to simplify the cooking process, since I'm not very experienced in the kitchen. Instead of using fresh tomatoes and a variety of herbs, I chose a Knorr Bolognese sauce mix. It’s much easier and quicker, and it still gives a great flavor. I also switched out the ground beef for ground turkey, which helps me cut down on calories without sacrificing too much taste.
To make the dish more exciting, I added some frozen peas and chopped bell peppers. They bring a bit of sweetness and extra texture to the sauce, which I really enjoy. I also like to add some shredded mozzarella cheese on top before serving. It melts nicely and adds a delicious creamy touch that complements the savory sauce.
Here’s how the changes make a difference: using the Knorr mix simplifies the preparation, saving time and effort, while the ground turkey makes the dish a bit lighter. The peas and bell peppers not only add flavor but also a bit of color, making the meal more appealing. The melted mozzarella cheese gives it an extra layer of richness that enhances the overall taste.
My simplified version of Spaghetti Bolognese is easier to make and better suited to my tastes, while still being quick and satisfying.
