In college I pushed for community education for various animals and plants throughout my time in the biology club. I am currently one of the main volunteers working with the "Catalina Nature Program," an educational program ran through the Catalina State Park that encourages locals to meet and understand various animals that are often seen as dangerous or scary in the public eye. I am also involved with The Audubon Society and the Tucson Herpetological Society.

My first internship with The National Park Service was focused on the Whitebark Pine, which was recently listed as threatened. I was directly involved in the experimentation and surveys that took place in order to put in for that listing. I later worked with the Clark's Mariposa Lily which was listed as endangered during that time. I am very familiar with precautions that need to be taken when working with federally listed plants and animals. I recently received my Lowland Leopard frog training for swabbing and toe clipping, as well as my Chiricahua Leopard Frog Certification. Currently I am using these skills to work with endangered frogs in Arizona.
