Brad Cramer has been interested in swords all his life. In 2004 sticks, cardboard tubes, and dowel rods were replaced by foils, sabers, and replica practice swords. He co-founded the UWF Fencing club in 2004 and sought to further his knowledge in any way possible. In 2014, he was invited to become the club's primary instructor, and in 2019 he was officially certified at the instructor level through the Fencing Masters Certification Program in Italian foil with a concentration on historical fencing, Italian rapier.
