Fall 2024
Fall Events:
School Supplies Drive: (September 27th-October 9th)
For our school supply drive, we dedicated all supplies to our community district California Area Elementary School. These supplies consisted of books, notebooks, paper, and a variety of materials for children and teachers in need. These supplies help the learning environment by providing children with the tools they need to thrive in the classroom as well as enable educators to enhance their teaching. Through support of our club, we were able to make a meaningful impact, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the school.
Cal-O-Ween: (October 29th)
This event allowed our volunteers to spread the Halloween spirit by dressing up in a costume and passing out candy to children from the local community who attended the event. We got to see a ton of great costumes and smiles for lots of candy! The best part was witnessing the countless smiles and laughter as children and campus students collected their treats, making the event a memorable experience for everyone involved. It was a fantastic way to bring the community together, spread joy, and create lasting Halloween memories!
Color A Smile:
During our campus's Take Your Child to Work Day event, our club hosted a Color A Smile event which is a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to nursing homes, hospitals, meals on wheels programs, our troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile. As our drawings are dedicated and colored for troops overseas, every month these colorings are mailed to the recipients on the military mailing list.
Thanksgiving Events:
Thanksgiving Food Drive: (November 8th-November 21st)
Our food drive left a meaningful impact through generous donations, as we were able to provide canned goods and other non-perishable food items to families facing financial hardships, helping families in need this holiday season. In addition to supporting local families in need, we extended our outreach to students on our own campus who were unable to travel home for Thanksgiving as well. Our club wanted to help as many people as we could to help celebrate and share our gratitude.
Family Bingo Night: (November 19th)
For this exciting event, SPSEA partnered with our local school district, California Charter School, to create a fun and engaging experience for all students. Every student was invited to participate in a fun game of bingo, where they had the chance to win special prizes, adding to the excitement and friendly competition! To make the evening even more welcoming and enjoyable, we served warm hot chocolate and delicious cookies, ensuring that students and their families felt right at home. This event was a fantastic opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories with our local school community!
Christmas Events:
(November 14th- December 5th)
Christmas Toy Drive: Share the Joy (non profit organization that helps local families in our community)
Christmas Toys for Tots Toy Drive
Our December events allowed us the opportunity to bring the spirit of Christmas to families in need. Through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we were able to provide gifts and toys to parents who were unable to purchase presents for their children. By offering carefully chosen gifts, we helped ensure that every child could experience the joy and excitement of opening a present on Christmas morning. This event led a commitment to making the season brighter for as many families as possible. Thanks to the support of our community, we were able to help families create a magical holiday for all families in need!
Spring 2025
Early Spring Events:
Valentines Day Card Making: (February 12th)
This special Valentine’s Day event provided our club members with the opportunity to show appreciation and gratitude for the hardworking professors and teachers who make a difference in our lives. By creating their very own, creative cards, our volunteers dedicated their time to making personalized Valentine's Day cards to express their love and support across campus for the educators who deserve it!
Donations Events:
Spring Cleaning Clothing Drive: (March 10th-24th)
Our club started a clothing drive that allows us to provide attire for both children and adults. This clothing drive will help support local families with everyday clothing items from winter coats to shorts and tank tops. Our collection of new and gently used clothing items will be donated to several local non-profit organizations.
California Book Drive: (February 20th-March 24th)
Our club started a book drive to support a local school districts, California Charter and California Elementary School. As a club, we recognize the importance of educational resources and access to books as it plays a crucial role in fostering literacy, creativity, and the love of reading in the classroom setting. This event allowed us to help our local community by providing the book resources that students need to get a quality education. These resources supported teachers by providing them with the tools necessary to create an engaging learning experience for all students.
