What kind of chapter are we?
AAUP@PennState is an advocacy chapter connecting faculty across all the Penn State University campuses. What is an advocacy chapter? As defined by the AAUP national organization, an advocacy chapter:
provides a way for faculty to organize
promote shared governance, academic freedom, and review of university's due processes
"In addition to providing a vehicle through which faculty can collectively organize (if not formally engage in collective bargaining), among other efforts AAUP advocacy chapters promote shared governance, academic freedom, and due process, and can engage in local Committee A work as well as government-relations campaigns.
