Reading
When the children are ready they will develop their reading skills in Group Guided Reading sessions
To begin the first steps on their reading journeys we use Sounds Write which is a comprehensive phonics programme
At the end of the day the children will have a Storytime Send off
We will be running home-school and parental engagement activites with a reading focus across the year.
We will be providing children in Nursery to year 2 books to take home to encourage bedtime reading with parents/carers
We will be providing children in year 3 to year 6 books to take home to encourage reading for pleasure at home
We will be inviting parents and carers into school to create a reading history with their child.
