Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference (RRSPC) 2026 officially started its article writing program for the Column Writing category in Elementary and Secondary levels this February 24, advancing for the finalist elimination round to be held tomorrow.
Spearheaded at Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School (ACNSTHS), all 300 contenders from 25 divisions gathered to compete with other schools across CALABARZON.
Before the formal orientation, participants from the Elementary level were guided by the proctors in six (6) designated rooms in ACNSTHS and Cabading Elementary School.
Attorney Charmaine Calizo, the incumbent Attorney III of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Antipolo City, hosted the Press Conference (PC) thereafter to discuss the column focus for the Secondary level journalists.

Coby Reyes, the Filipino Column Writer from Milagros Elementary School (MES), mentioned that the RRSPC maximized the knowledge gained in solidifying sentence structures and writing styles.
“Sa tingin ko po, nakatulong po yung mga lectures or yung tinuruan po sa amin sa paggawa ng article. Nag improve po ako sa mga structure ng article ko and way ng pagsulat ng topics or paragraphs, Reyes responded.
When asked whether the topic given was difficult, Psalm Digno, the Filipino columnist at Saint Dominic College of Asia, said that the subject of concern was not burdensome and also treated in a light manner.
“Hindi naman. Sadyang nagpaligoy-ligoy lang yung utak ko during writing kaya medyo kinakabahan ako. Sakto lang naman kasi ineenjoy ko nalang — last year ko na rin kasi,” Digno expressed.
Teacher’s Contradiction
On the other hand, John Jayson Cainlang, the Supreme Student Learner Government (SSLG) Adviser, acknowledged that the aforementioned programs presented its host of challenges, including the delayed time before orientation proper.
“Sa program for today, nag-start yan sa orientation pero naghintay na yung mga bata ng 1-2 hours. Hindi masyadong nasunod ang time train na binigay ng region,” Cainlang said.
The SSLG Adviser amplified the contradiction based on the lacking capabilities of selected contenders in familiarizing with the given topic from the fact sheet.
“In terms of problems ng mga bata, siguro may mga student lang na nagtatanong kung ano yung topic - parang hindi sila aware or familiar with the topic na binigay sa fact sheet na binigay sa Elem [Elementary level],” Cainlang added.
