This February 23, Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School hosted the second day of Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference (RRSPC), where participants attended multiple learning sessions to enhance their knowledge and skills in column writing.
The event brought together 300 student delegates from elementary to high school levels across 24 divisions, with sessions led by the resource speaker Ms. Jenelyn Aguilar, an experienced journalist and educator from CALABARZON.
During the program, interactive discussion between the resource speaker and column writers occurred, allowing both sides to speak about their insights and perspectives on the subject. Aguilar also shared practical advice and professional guidance on writing coherent, and impactful column pieces.
Moreover, a School Paper Adviser (SPA) from Santisimo Rosario Integrated High School of the Division of San Pablo City, Michelle B. Banca shared their division's experiences amidst the changes implemented for this year's Regional School's Press Conference.
"This year's RSPC is quite different... kasi dati in one day kunwari may editorial cartooning, feature writing, etc, then the following day may panibagong set of categories ulit, so half a day lang for one category but now we have 4 whole days just for one category," Banca stated.
"Actually mas nagustuhan ko 'to, since may isang dedicated na araw to teach our campus journalists, and also we have a very competent speaker where a lot of our campus journalists could learn from," she added.
The second day concluded with final reminders and preparations from John Jayson E. Cainlang for the much-anticipated competition set to begin tomorrow, marking the start of the contest proper.
